2 Nov 2005 - November News
Charity
This years chosen charity is The Pied Piper
Appeal. Look out for events which will be
supporting this local charity to fund equipment for the children?s wards at the hospital it has already established.
Vouchers
Thank you to everyone who gave us their vouchers and especially those who coerced work colleagues to part with theirs too!
Last year we collected 12500 Tesco vouchers which Miss Vernon has used to order a new Roamer robot, a digital camera, a remote controlled car and some accessories.
We collected 27500 Active Kids vouchers which have been used for the outside PE store and all sorts of PE equipment eg balls, bats, goals, beanbags, etc.
Please note: Mrs Cowl has the wonderful job of
counting all these vouchers. If you could either put the vouchers in a used envelope with the number of
vouchers enclosed on it or if you would like to offer to take a carrier bagful to count she would be eternally grateful.
Dinner Money
Dinner money has to be paid on a Monday (unless your child is absent). Cash or cheque (not accepted for less than £5) should be sent in an envelope clearly marked with your child?s name, class and days when a meal is required.
Please note: The cost of School Dinners is now remaining at £1.65 per day, £8.25 per week. The new menu is available from the office.
Pantomime
We will be taking the whole school to the Everyman Theatre on Tuesday 10th January 2006 to see the pantomime Jack & the Beanstalk.
As in previous years the PTA have offered to fund the coaches for the trip. The letter regarding seat costs etc will be coming home later this term.
We are expecting to again have a wonderful time - Oh! Yes we are!!

All parents are asked to collect their children at 2.00 pm on this day.
We are collecting vouchers as follows:
Tesco
Sainsbury Active Kids
Nestle Box Tops
Persil Stars
Reception Parents
The Reception teachers thank you for your co-operation in not walking past the classroom windows when collecting your children in the afternoon. This is
important as the teachers need to be able to see that the children get to their parents safely. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you to everyone who has returned their questionnaire we will be using your
comments to help us to formulate next year?s admission procedure.
Investors in People
The school was re-assessed for Investors in People accreditation this week and passed with flying colours.
Harvest Festival
Thank you to all of you who attended this years Harvest Festival. I am sorry it was so cosy in the Hall we are going to have to limit numbers in the future. Thank you for all your donations of foodstuff - the Salvation Army were very grateful and have asked me to pass on their sincere thanks.
Parking
We are again receiving complaints from our neighbours regarding the way parents are parking outside school in the mornings and after school.
The school entrance and car park are NOT to be used for parking or dropping off. The zig-zag lines are there to provide a safe crossing point for children and parents NOT for parking on.
Please do not park across driveways.
Several cars were damaged this week because cars were parked both sides of the road and the Juniors swimming bus got stuck in Dinglewell. The road needs to be kept clear so that emergency vehicles can get through at all times.
The police have been contacted and they will be monitoring the situation. They are able to issue ?on the spot? fines for bad parking so please be aware and
PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE.
Photographs
School photograph day was very successful - thank you for preparing the children (especially the Junior Children) so well.
The proofs should be here this week and orders and money need to be returned to school by Friday 11th November.
EuroIndia
Along with the proof photographs we are sending out donation envelopes on behalf of Ian Aspey, the photographer. He is taking part in Euroindia, a 3000km charity motorcycle ride across India, on a classic motorcycle. He is taking Barnaby Bear with him and will be providing photographs of Barnaby during the ride. Please support him if you can.
