19 Apr 2006 - April News

Parking
Thank you for adhering to the new rules regarding parking in the school car park.

We are still receiving complaints from our neighbours in Dinglewell, Brookfield Road and Lilliesfield Avenue. Please park considerately and take care not to block driveways.

School Uniform - Shoes
Some parents have been asking if the children can wear sandals to school in the summer. They can, provided the sandals have covered in toes. Fashion shoes are not suitable for running around the playground and could cause injury so please ensure your child wears sensible shoes for school.

Our playground is quite exposed and can be cool even if the sun is shining so children still need to bring coats/fleeces every day.

DVDs
Children's DVDs required for wet lunchtimes. If you have any unwanted ones please give them to the office as soon as possible

Parent Governors
Mrs Janice Bird has resigned as Parent Governor. We thank her for her
efforts on behalf of the school. We received 1 nomination for her replacement and so an election was not required. We welcome Mrs Helen Healey as our new Parent Governor.

PTA Car Boot Sale
The PTA are holding a Car Boot Sale in the school car park on Saturday 29th April from 10 am - 12 noon.

PTA Meeting
The PTA Committee has arranged to hold a meeting in the school hall on Wednesday 26th April. This meeting is open to ALL members of the PTA ie all Parents, Guardians and Staff of Dinglewell Infant School. The reason for the meeting is to discuss the Summer Fair on 17th June 2006. Please try to come along, the events organised by the PTA are to raise funds for your children and so your input into decisions made would be very gratefully received.

After School Arrangements
If your child is going to be collected early from school or is going to be
collected by a different person from usual at 3.10 pm, teachers MUST be
informed in writing.

Teachers will no longer accept verbal messages given to them in the morning. You will be asked to go to the office and write the changes to
arrangements down.

Verbal messages received by telephone will be passed on but this method should only be used in an emergency.

Thank you for your co-operation in this very
important safety matter.
Can you sew?
Miss Attwood is looking for a group of parents who would be willing to make some resources for the school. All material etc will be supplied. If you can help please see Miss Attwood as soon as possible.

Parent helpers
The Reception classes are still in need of parents who could help supervise the outdoor play area either one morning or one afternoon per week. If you have time to spare please let the office know as soon as possible.

Polling Day - May 4th
Please note the school will be open as normal on this day.
In the past we have been able to arrange staff
inservice training on Polling Day, but the change in term dates has made this impossible this year.
Access to the school/playground will be roped off and staff will be extra vigilant.
Apologies for any inconvenience to those of you who have children in both schools.
