Contact changes
Please remember to advise the office if your contact telephone numbers eg home or mobile change as it is very important that we are able to contact you should your child be taken ill.

Siblings
As you know siblings of pupils are given priority for places at the school. However you do need to register your child with us. If you have a toddler please call into the office to fill out a simple form in order to place them on the list for the year they are due to start.

Classroom/Library/Visit Helpers
The Teachers and Library Manager will be grateful for parents to help them with various tasks next year. If you have a half day free each week which you would like to spend in school please let the office know. Jobs will include hearing readers, helping a group of children with a particular task, mounting art work, tidying library, cleaning library books etc. We will be arranging a meeting for all new helpers in the near future.
We also wish to make a list of parents who are willing to
accompany children on out of school visits and are willing to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check in anticipation of helping in this way. If you would be willing to help out in this way please let the office know and we will arrange for you to receive the necessary forms to fill in.

School Profile
The school governors no longer have to provide an annual report for parents, but instead posts a school profile on the internet. The profile for 2004/5 is now available at http//:schoolprofile.parentscentre.gov.uk
The profile for 2005/6 will be available in the autumn.

Parking
Please be considerate when parking in the roads around Dinglewell. Our neighbours need to be able to get into and out of their driveways and emergency vehicles need to able to access all areas.

The school gates are closed each day from 8.30 am and 3.30 pm. Please do not park or turn in the entrance area. If you or your child is disabled a parking permit for the car park is available from the office.

Change to collection arrangements
If your child is being collected from school by someone other than yourself please let the teacher know in writing, verbal messages are not acceptable unless there is an emergency.

If there is a regular arrangement for a particular day(s) each week please let the teacher know in writing at the beginning of each term.

After-school Clubs
Y1 and Y2 children have the
opportunity to attend after-school clubs. A letter will be coming home shortly detailing the clubs available eg computer club, craft club, sports clubs, drama club etc. We will be asking you to sign up for the whole academic year. Please remember to take into account other activities your child may have eg swimming, ballet so that there is not a clash.

Money
Any monies sent into school MUST be in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name, class and reason eg 'Trip', 'Uniform', 'Dinner Money' etc

Drop and go
Our playground isn't large enough for all the Y1 and Y2 children, their parents, pre-school brothers and sisters and pushchairs. So now that you have reassured yourselves that the children know where to line up could we encourage you to say goodbye to your children either at the inner gate where a teacher is on duty or in the playground and then leave them to come into school with their friends. It is particularly difficult for class 4 and 5 staff to keep the children safe if there are crowds of adults around as they walk to the
classrooms. Thank you.

Child Booster seats/cushions
New regulations are coming into force concerning the safety of children in cars. There are a few copies of an information booklet available in the entrance hall if you would like to borrow one to read.

Term Date cards
Along with this newsletter your child should bring home three copies of our term date cards. Please keep them with our compliments to remind you of the school terms this year or to pass on to friends or neighbours.
